Facilities Manager

 

Wrenshall Public Schools is seeking a skilled Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and operation of facilities at our single campus public school. The ideal candidate will possess a boiler operator license, Building Operator or HVAC certification, and expertise in facility cleaning systems. The District is willing to provide training to develop the full range of skills necessary for greater responsibility and increased compensation level. This role requires someone who is committed to ensuring a safe and functional environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilities Maintenance: Manage and oversee the maintenance of all school buildings, grounds, and equipment., conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly, coordinate repairs and renovations as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to school activities. 

 

HVAC and Boiler Systems: Operate, maintain, and coordinate repair of HVAC systems throughout the school, monitor boiler systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet safety standards, troubleshoot HVAC and boiler issues and perform necessary adjustments.

 

Cleaning Systems Management: Oversee the cleaning and janitorial services for the school, ensure cleaning protocols are followed to maintain a sanitary and healthy environment, implement and manage cleaning schedules and supply inventory.

 

Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and building codes, develop and implement safety procedures and protocols as part of a safety team, conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions for staff.

 

Budget and Resource Management: Assist the Business Manager with the facilities budget, including forecasting and cost control measures, source and negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers, optimize resource allocation to maintain cost-effectiveness.

 

Team Leadership and Training: Supervise and train facilities staff, including janitorial and maintenance teams, foster a positive and productive work environment, provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance staff skills.

 

Qualifications:

-Proven experience as a Facilities Manager or participation in progressive leadership roles, preferably in an educational or similar setting.

-Boiler operator license and Building Operator or HVAC certification preferred, paid training to acquire certifications will be available.

-Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and cleaning protocols.

-Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

-Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

-Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Compensation: This is a 12-month supervisory position on a multi-year individual contract. The base salary range is $40,000 to $60,000 dependent upon experience and current certifications. Benefits include paid training, medical/dental plan, 403b match, 24 days of PTO, and 13 paid holidays.

Kindergarten Teacher - 24/25 School Year, Wrenshall School District

 

 

The ISD #100 Wrenshall School District has an anticipated 1.0 FTE Kindergarten Teacher position available for the 2024-2025 school year.

Job Qualifications:

Valid MN teaching license.

Must demonstrate continued professional development through coursework, research and peer collaboration.

Knowledge of the core curriculum areas the teacher is responsible for instructing

Knowledge of students’ learning styles and needs.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Ability to plan and implement lessons based upon school district goals and objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned.

Ability to provide appropriate instruction in core subjects.

Custodian Position

Wrenshall School has an opening for a 1.0 FTE Custodian. This is benefit eligible, AFSCME Union, Grade 4, year round position starting at $16.86 per hour. Custodian performs general cleaning and light maintenance to provide pleasant and safe surroundings for students, staff, and visitors. Work conditions include standing, walking, stairs, heavy lifting, pulling, pushing, etc. Previous custodial experience preferred. Substitute Bus Drivers

Wrenshall School District is seeking substitute bus drivers for morning and afternoon routes as well as extra curricular routes. Drivers are required to obtain CDL with School Bus Endorsement. Substitute Custodian

Wrenshall School has an opening for a Substitute Custodian.

Principal Responsibilities: The custodian must provide general cleaning, this position ensures a clean and safe work and school environment by ensuring that rooms, hallways, and stairwells are kept clean and safe. This position often requires custodians to be alone in the building during early morning or evening hours. There is also a high degree of attention needed with detail and trust.

  • Sweep and mop classroom floors.

  • Clean desk tops and tables when needed.

  • Put all chairs back on the floor after each room has been cleaned.

  • Empty garbage in classrooms.

  • Wash black or white boards in classrooms.

  • Clean bathrooms, fill paper towel dispensers, mop bathrooms, disinfect sinks, toilets, urinal, and water fountains.

  • Vacuum rugs in classrooms.

  • Sweep stairwells.

  • Clean windows in the lobby area.

  • All trash from these areas must be taken out every day.

  • Machine clean hallways.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

Salary: $16.86/hour

Special Education Paraprofessional

Wrenshall School has an opening for a Special Education Paraprofessional.

Position Purpose: Special education paraprofessionals assist students with special needs under the direction of a certified teacher. Paraprofessionals generally work in an inclusionary setting (i.e. least restrictive environment).

 

The special education paraprofessional assists the teacher in general daily classroom activities, helps special needs students, and cares for their physical, emotional health and safety, affirming their abilities, and striving to promote dignity in all relationships.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required

  • A minimum of an associates degree or at least 60 semester credits (90 quarter credits) from an accredited college and demonstrate competency to assist in reading, writing and math OR a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment (Minnesota set the passing score at 460 or above).

Essential Duties (included but not limited to):

  1. Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the facilitator and classroom teachers.

  2. Working with students who may be aggressive or disruptive in class

  3. Personal care when needed

  4. Consultation and collaboration with Special Education and Regular Education Teachers as well as related service staff

  5. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans for the students and monitor their progress.

  6. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.

  7. Work with other professionals, such as speech therapists, social workers, occupational and physical therapists.

  8. Assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records.

  9. Support students with emotional or behavior concerns and assist them in developing appropriate social skills.

  10. Any and all other duties as may be assigned per the school district Superintendent

 

Salary: This is a Class 5 positon in the Education Minnesota-Wrenshall (ESP) contract starting at $16.73/hour.

 

Schedule: 7 hours per day on student contact days.
